Mr. Porreca represented a defendant in Parsippany Municipal Court on a first-offense DWI. The client's blood alcohol was .15%, which exposes a defendant to the required installation of an ignition interlock device as well as a 7-12 month driver's license suspension.
After obtaining an expert report which exposed several procedural inadequacies with the officers' operation of theAlcotest device, Mr. Porreca was able to convince the prosecutor to offer this client a "tier 1" DWI, which only carries a 90 day driver's license suspension. Mr. Porreca was able to get all of the defendant's other tickets dismissed.
