Attorney Porreca Secures Probation in $75K Theft Case Your Case Becomes My Mission & Every Mission Is Possible

The Law Offices of Christopher G. Porreca, P.C. is proud to announce another favorable case result has been secured on behalf of our clients. In the case of a Randolf client who was facing a felony theft charge, I was able to successfully negotiate a plea deal that does not involve prison time.

As Daily Record reports, Sabra Aschenbrenner, 46, pleaded guilty to the theft of $75,000 from her employer, a Randolf dentist. The theft happened incrementally between February 2010 and January 2013 as Aschenbrenner worked as a bookkeeper for the victim.

During the sentencing hearing, I remained adamant about my client's remorse over the offense and insisted that both she and the victim have been affected by the ordeal. "This matter has taken a serious emotional toll on my client," I told Judge Stephen Taylor.

Probation & Restitution

Aschenbrenner was able to escape prison time in this case due to a plea deal I negotiated with Morris County Assistant Prosecutor Michael Rappa. Instead, the judge accepted a sentence of five years' probation for Aschenbrenner.

Along with a mental health evaluation that she will undergo, Aschenbrenner has also paid the victim back the full $75,000 that she stole. "I've learned a lot about myself," she said in court. "Hopefully, this restitution will bring some peace to the victim."

I hope this latest victory stands as another example of the kind of vigilant and effective legal counsel clients who come to my firm will receive—even as they face serious felony charges.
